Go Wild On Safari
Go Wild On Safari
Have you always wanted to explore the plains of Africa on Safari? Imagine being merely a few feet away from a majestic elephant or within a few meters of a lion and his family. Along with the elephant and lion, three other animals are part of the African “Big 5” of the region’s prized big game: the rhinoceros, buffalo and leopard. If it has been your dream to view these animals in their natural habitat, then an African adventure is only a few clicks away.
Many online travel package sites will also allow you to tailor your Safari vacation to your liking. Do you enjoy camping out in tents and truly getting close to nature? Perhaps you would enjoy luxury accommodations on the Serengeti with all the amenities you could wish for. Many individuals also opt for the resort experience, where they can enjoy fun activities during the day, such as golf and spa treatments, and then relax with wonderful fine dining in the evening. Whatever your desire, these vacation packages are all available to you on a safari holiday.
Your best bet for coordinating your African adventure is through a travel agent or an online travel booking site. Of course, you could go it alone, but you would have to do the research on your own, which could take a considerable amount of time. Travel websites have already have already done the research for you, so all you have to worry about is what sounds most exciting, fun, and/or relaxing to you!
Silvia Berman of Post Haste Travel Service in Hollywood, Fla., has designed a dream trip.
It incorporates two days at majestic Victoria Falls (including a helicopter flight over the falls and elephant-back safari); a three-day canoe safari along Zambia's Zambezi River; three days of game drives in South Africa's Kruger National Park, with lodgings in swank Singita Boulders Lodge; an overnight journey on the chichi Blue Train, with fine dining and great views of the passing countryside from your sumptuous suite and the observation car; and five days around Cape Town, exploring the cosmopolitan seaside city (with high tea at the Mt. Nelson hotel and hot nighttime jazz), the Cape of Good Hope, wine country and Robben Island (where former president Nelson Mandela was imprisoned).
This trip obviously isn't for youngsters, but Post Haste can make modifications geared more to the junior set.
The ideal time to go for best animal viewing and least rain is August or September, but it's not too soon to start planning. Top accommodations book fast.
